AANPCB Data Sharing
Summary
The AANP Member Education History Sharing function allows members to share their CE Tracker data with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). This feature simplifies the recertification process by automatically sharing continuing education records, streamlining the submission of proof for education requirements. Members can opt-in or out of this sharing agreement via their account, and the system will reflect the current consent status, enabling transparent and effective data management.
This process includes managing data consent for CE sharing, email notifications upon consent changes, and maintaining compliance with data-sharing policies.
Requirements
External Users
- As a member, I should be able to view the AANPCB Data Sharing Agreement under the My Education section, including the agreement title, version number, and full text.
- As a member, I should be able to view my current consent status for sharing my Continuing Education (CE) data with AANPCB.
- As a member, I should be able to update my consent status by opting in or out of the data-sharing agreement.
- As a member, I should receive a success or failure message after updating my consent, confirming the action was processed correctly.
- As a member, I should receive an email notification confirming the change in my consent status (opt-in or opt-out).
Internal Users
- As an internal user, I should be able to review a member's consent status and log the timestamp, IP address, and user agent for any changes made to their agreement.
- As an internal user, I should be able to retrieve records of all consent updates for compliance and audit purposes.
- As an internal user, I should ensure that only members who have opted in will have their CE Tracker data shared with AANPCB.
- As an internal user, I should be able to log all actions related to the agreement for compliance, including member updates to their data-sharing preferences.
Assumptions
- Members will be presented with a clear, easy-to-use interface to view, manage, and update their consent status.
- The system will automatically log all consent changes with appropriate metadata (e.g., timestamps, IP addresses).
- Email notifications will be generated in a timely manner, confirming consent changes for both opt-in and opt-out actions.

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) is a separate entity from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). AANPCB accepts education obtained after your most recent certification date. You are agreeing to share the following content with AANPCB:
- Your full name
- Your AANP Account Number and current membership status
- All course titles, CE and Pharmacology hours obtained from AANP
- All manually entered external course titles, CE Units, and supporting documentation uploaded to AANP’s CE Tracker.
Entering your own external courses to the CE Tracker is an exclusive AANP Member benefit. Regardless of current membership status, any existing entries will be visible to AANPCB.
[Checkbox] I understand my course history will be shared with AANPCB and agree to the electronic transmission of my data. I understand that I can remove this integration at any time within AANP's Account portal. Any data that has been received by AANPCB may be retained for review after the integration agreement has been revoked.

What do I do now?
Once your continuing education (CE) data from CE Tracker is being shared with AANPCB, you can follow the standard process for recertification through the AANPCB website.
